Today, the Breckenridge Texan has launched a new way for everyone to keep up with the local news — an email newsletter called the Weekly News Roundup.

Subscribers to the e-newsletter will receive a weekly email offering a quick recap of the stories we published during the previous week, a snapshot of upcoming events and a list of the most recent obituaries.

It’s a free service. To subscribe, just click here and fill out the brief form. The emails will go out on Monday mornings.

“This is a great way to make sure you don’t miss anything that’s going on in Breckenridge and Stephens County,” said Tony Pilkington, Breckenridge Texan Publisher. “It’s especially useful for anyone who isn’t on Facebook or Twitter all of the time. All you need is an email address. You can receive it on your phone, your tablet or your desktop computer, wherever you get your email.”

Each brief in the newsletter has a link to the full story on the Breckenridge Texan website, which is also free for anyone to access.

“If you know of anyone who isn’t on social media on a regular basis but would still like to keep up with local news, encourage them to sign up for the newsletter,” Pilkington said. “We won’t sell or share your email address with anyone else. Your privacy will be safeguarded.”

Once you register for the newsletter, look for the next edition to show up in your email inbox the following Monday. If you don’t see the newsletter, be sure to check your spam or promos folders, in case your email system redirected it.
