What would happen if the farm animals got access to a laptop computer and requested blankets in the cold barn? That very scenario plays out in the musical “Click, Clack, Moo,” which will be performed by TheaterWorksUSA on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Breckenridge’s The National Theatre.

The performance, presented by Friends of Historic Breckenridge and The National Theatre, will begin at 2 p.m. at the theater, 116 E. Walker St.

Based on the award-winning children’s book “Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type” by Doreen Cronin, the play tells the updated story of Farmer Brown, his cows and chickens, and his granddaughter Jenny, who comes to visit. Jenny brings a laptop with her to the farm, and Farmer Brown takes it to the cold barn since his farm is a tech-free zone.

In the barn, the cows and chickens see the laptop as a way to get a message to Farmer Brown about needing blankets in the cold barn. When Farmer Brown refuses, the cows go on strike and the chickens join them in solidarity. No blankets? No milk! No eggs!

To find out how it all ends up, check out the show on Saturday. Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased with cash or check at the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, 100 E. Elm St., during their normal business hours. Those wanting to purchase tickets the day of the show can do so at the box office with cash, check, or credit/debit card starting at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
