Harvey Wilburn Green was born June 5, 1938, to John C. and Leo Green in Breckenridge. Harvey attended Breckenridge schools, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1957. After graduation, Harvey moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he also attended Colorado State University. Harvey later met his first wife, Mary, and they were married in 1957 and remained married for 55 years until her passing. Harvey and his family moved to Durango, Colorado, where he resided until 2008. Harvey worked for the Denver Water Board while in Boulder and then for the City of Durango in the Public Works Department and also worked for La Plata Electric. Harvey and Mary opened and operated Sew Fine Fabrics and the Frame Shop in Durango and worked there until their move to Breckenridge in late 2008. After moving to Breckenridge, Harvey wanted to check out the local Swenson Museum. He loved history and would frequent the museum downtown Breckenridge. It was there at the museum that he took notice of a woman named, Pat Dudley. Harvey would continue to come around and help fix things on occasion. He finally got up enough courage and asked Pat Dudley out for dinner. After that first kiss, it was said they fell madly in love. Harvey and Pat married in 2016 and enjoyed this last leg of his journey together always making the best out of everything.
