My wife, Jenny, and I are excited to announce that I am running for re-election as Sheriff of
Stephens County. Today, Saturday the 9th, is the first day to file on the Republican Primary
Ballot. Jenny and I have been blessed to serve our hometown and county for these first three
years. It has been a challenge, an honor, and I am thoroughly proud of my office’s successes.

My Office has been tough on enforcement against repeat criminals, drug dealers, and adults
accused of sex crimes against children. With my re-election, we will continue to be. We have
substantially increased jail ministry and passed all jail inspections with flying colors. I was well
under budget in the 2017 and 2018 years, demonstrating tax stewardship with the utmost
conservatism. While we have many more accomplishments and successes to expand upon in the
coming weeks and months, we also have a ton more to tackle. My staff and I have not been
perfect, but we strive for excellence and often meet that standard. Where we have fallen short,
we have demonstrated adaptability and resilience.

I humbly ask for your support to be re-elected as your sheriff. Turning the tide and improving the
sheriff’s office and the county is not something that occurs in just a few years or within a
vacuum. I have worked diligently to establish or improve community partnerships with the
schools, churches, non-profits, businesses, and other government entities. This cannot be denied.

In the coming weeks, if you have questions for me or want to voice a recommendation or
critique, please do so directly to me. This is a much more effective and reasonable option than
making assumptions or treating gossip as fact. My office door at the Law Enforcement Center
(LEC) has always been open. Please call, email, or come by. To my supporters and those new to
the community, I value your words of encouragement and continue to invite your prayers for me
and all of my deputies and staff.
