September 17

  • A deputy made a traffic stop on West Walker Street. A drug investigation ensued. The 22-year-old driver was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

September 18

  • A registered sex offender came to the Sheriff’s Office to meet his reporting requirements. While there it was determined that he was wanted for a traffic warrant. The 44-year-old male was arrested and booked into the jail.
  • A report of vandalism was made on FM 1852 where an overhead garage door was shot multiple times by a BB gun or pellet gun. This occurred sometime during the past few days.

September 20

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant at a home in the 9600 block of CR 197. The 63-year-old male was arrested for a warrant related to a past theft charge.
  • A deputy traveled to Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center to transport a male juvenile back to Stephens County for a court hearing.

September 23

  • A deputy arrested a 31-year-old male at the county line after Shackelford County deputies contacted the man due to a Stephens County Crime Stoppers tip. The male was transported to the jail and booked on two warrants.

September 24

  • A deputy issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to a 45-year-old female for a residence on CR 206. This was requested by the home owner.
  • The Sheriff’s Office received notification from the State of Arkansas that they had a warrant of arrest for a female living in Breckenridge. The felony warrant was related to child support responsibilities. The Sheriff’s Office contacted this 36-year-old female at 3102 W. Walker St., where she was arrested and transported back to the Stephens County Jail.

September 25

  • A theft report was made at a residence on FM 3201. Metal square tubing had been stolen sometime in the previous days.

September 26

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant on a 31-year-old male Stephens County Jail inmate for Criminal Mischief equal to or greater than $750 but less than $2,500 due to the inmate vandalizing a jail door.

September 28

  • A deputy responded to a welfare concern at 874 CR 262. While there it was determined that a 55-year-old male had a warrant for his arrest for a traffic violation unpaid. The male was arrested and transported to the jail.

September 30

  • A deputy traveled to Tom Green County to arrest a 34-year-old male on a Stephens County warrant related to Terroristic Threat.
  • A deputy took a theft report at a home in the 10,000 block of CR 198. A boat lift was stolen from her boat dock. The victim did not know when this had occurred.

October 1

  • The Sheriff’s Office co-hosted National Night Out in the parking lot of the Law Enforcement Center. We enjoyed our time with the community and look forward to next year.

October 3

  • A female inmate was transported from Stephens County Jail to a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison for women near Gatesville.

October 4

  • The Sheriff’s Office traveled to the Eastland County line on FM 717 South to arrest a 37-year-old female for two warrants out of Stephens County. The Sheriff’s Office worked with Ranger Police Department on criminal intelligence as to the whereabouts of the wanted female. The warrants were Motion To Revoke Probation and Motion to Adjudicate for the past offenses of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Detention/Arrest in a Vehicle, respectively.
  • A deputy transported a male inmate from Stephens County Jail to a state prison near Jacksboro.

October 5

  • A deputy arrested a 21-year-old female at her residence in the 900 block of West Wheeler Street. The warrant was for not paying a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

October 6

  • A deputy made a traffic stop on West Jeanette Street. A drug investigation ensued. The 61-year-old male driver was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

October 8

  • The Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on a 41-year-old male who was walking in the 1400 block of West Walker Street. The male was wanted for Motion To Adjudicate on the past charge of Theft of Materials.

October 9

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant for Criminal Trespass on a 59-year-old male in the 200 block of CR 253. This warrant stemmed from the offense of Criminal Trespass and Theft occurring at another address on CR 253 approximately two weeks ago.
  • A deputy responded a property on CR 126 due to miscellaneous items being stolen over a several month period. Vehicle tires, wooden tables, and vehicle parts were stolen.

October 11

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant on a 23-year-old male for a warrant related to a past charge of felony drug possession (methamphetamine). The male was originally detained in Palo Pinto County due to the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office sharing law enforcement intelligence with Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office. on the whereabouts of the male.

October 13

  • A registered sex offender came to the Sheriff’s Office for his reporting obligations. It was determined that he had warrants for his arrest for past traffic offenses. He was arrested and booked into the Stephens County Jail.
