August 5

  • A deputy traveled to Taylor County Jail to arrest a 24-year-old female on a warrant related to probation violations. The original charge was burglary of a habitation to a home in northern Stephens County during the summer of 2018. She has since been convicted, and has now violated terms of her probation.
  • A delayed report of criminal mischief was made when a resident reported the window of their spare vehicle smashed. This had occurred in the past weeks.
  • The Sheriff’s Office made consensual contact with a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Tractor Supply Company. As a result of the investigation, a drug paraphernalia citation was issued to a female passenger.
  • The Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug investigation and warrant of arrest service at a motel room at the Plaza Motel. As a result of the investigation, one female was arrested for methamphetamine drug dealing and for an arrest warrant for theft. A second female was arrested for two warrants out of Jones County.
  • A deputy transported a Stephens County Jail inmate to a state prison near Abilene.
  • Sheriff Will Holt attended the fundraising check presentation to the Stephens County TX Crime Stoppers organization on behalf of Copper Leaf Properties. These were the proceeds made from the golf tournament for our local crime stoppers organization. The sheriff says thank you to all the citizens and businesses who donated time and money.

August 6

  • A deputy arrested a 26-year-old female at the Law Enforcement Center for a warrant related to probation revocation for a DWI.
  • A deputy issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to a 39-year-old male for the Plaza Motel, due to the male causing trouble there. This was at the request of the manager.

August 8

  • A deputy traveled to Tarrant County Jail to arrest a 31-year-old male on a warrant for Organized Criminal Activity – Drug Dealing. This arrest warrant was related to the Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity bust that came to fruition in April and May of this year.

August 10

  • A deputy contacted three people at Prater’s Landing at Hubbard Creek Lake. One of the three, a 24-year-old female, was wanted for a warrant related to a pending methamphetamine drug delivery charge.

 

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, traffic accidents/hazards, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, and some types of proactive calls.
