The reception will be open to the public and will offer the community the opportunity to meet many of the artists with works in the show. The reception will include hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The 28th annual show received 232 entries from 16 different states, BFAC Director Shalon Wilson said. More than 100 works were selected by the juror, artist Liz Bonham of Southlake. Several of the selected artworks are three-dimensional, including bronze, ceramic, wood, porcelain, clay and more.

The paintings include oil, acrylic, watercolor, alcohol ink, pencil and mixed media, Wilson said.

This year, the exhibit is grouped in sections, such as Western, Abstract, Florals and Still Lifes, South American. Landscapes, and more.

The annual show offers $5,000 worth of prizes, including the $2,000 Best of Show prize.

The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is located at 207 N. Breckenridge Ave. The BFAC’s summer hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. For more information, call 254-559-6602.
