June 17

  • A deputy traveled to Burnet to retrieve a 30-year-old female state prisoner to bring her to Stephens County Jail for the pending charge of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (for Drug Delivery).
  • A deputy responded to a hit and run accident on FM 207, where a single vehicle left the roadway and damaged a property owner’s fence. The deputy conducted a follow-up investigation and received a confession from the driver who left the scene.

June 19

  • A deputy traveled to Johnson County Jail to retrieve a 26-year-old male for a warrant a probation violation warrant related to a past drug charge. This warrant arrest stemmed from a Stephens County TX Crime Stoppers tip. https://877500tips.com/
  • A deputy issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to a 19-year-old female at the request of a male who lives in the 4100 block of FM 2231 West. This was related to the female being a suspect in property damage and theft at that residence.

June 20

  • A deputy arrested a 61-year-old male for a U.S. federal warrant related to him possessing an illegal firearm. This warrant stemmed from the April 2019 arrests of him and several others for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. The arrested male was immediately taken to Taylor County Jail where he is being held without bond waiting a disposition on this federal case.
  • A deputy served two arrest warrants on a 24-year-old male who was already confined in the Stephens County Jail. The warrants were Motion to Revoke Probation for two past charges.
  • A deputy arrested a 44-year-old male who was appearing in the 90 Judicial District Court. The warrant issued was for Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled.
  • The Sheriff’s Office traveled to Taylor County Jail to arrest a 60-year-old male on a warrant related to the past charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.

June 22

  • A deputy and a Breckenridge Police Department Officer arrested a 26-year-old male for a warrant related to Violating a Protective Order. The arrest occurred on East Second Street.

June 24

  • Sheriff Will Holt attended the monthly board meeting for Dr. Goodall’s House/Virginia’s House, which helps protect children and families who have been abused.

June 26

  • Sheriff Holt and Deputy Drake attended the BISD summer event for reading and feeding kids at the city park.

June 27

  • A deputy arrested a 36-year-old male on a warrant related to Terroristic Threat.

June 28

  • The Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on the east side of the mile long bridge. The 59-year-old male driver was cited for Littering and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and he was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants from Eastland. The driver was transported to the county line and released to an Eastland Police Department officer.

June 30

  • A deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle on West Walker Street. The female driver was arrested for Driving While License Invalid, Expired Registration, and No Vehicle Insurance.
  • Throughout the past week, the Sheriff’s Office made approximately 26 traffic stops at the “Mile Long Bridge” on Hubbard Creek Reservoir. Most of the stops were for vehicles running the red light. If you run the red light when workers are present, the required fine is $500.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, traffic accidents/hazards, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, and some types of proactive calls.
