May 6

  • A deputy traveled to Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center to transport a male back to court at the Stephens County Courthouse.

May 7

  • The Sheriff’s Office contacted a 44-year-old male at his residence at 323 S. Court Ave. A drug investigation ensued, which resulted in the male being arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 Less than 1 Gram in a Drug Free Zone. The drug seized was methamphetamine. The male also had warrants.

May 9

  • A deputy traveled to Shackelford County Jail to arrest a male inmate on a Stephens County warrant. The 31-year-old male was transported back to Stephens County Jail and booked on a warrant related to Evading Arrest/Detention.

May 12

  • A deputy responded to a family disturbance in the 7000 block CR 304. It was determined that a 31-year-old female had assaulted her aunt. The female was arrested for Assault Family Violence then transported to the Stephens County Jail.

May 13

  • Two deputies and Sheriff Will Holt served a parole violation arrest warrant on a 35-year-old male at a residence on U.S. Highway 180 East near Caddo.
  • The Sheriff’s Office conducted a proactive contact of a male at 9636 CR 197, where a drug investigation ensued. The male was found to be in possession of hydrocodone and an anti-depressant, neither of which he had a prescription for. He was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 less than 28 grams and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

May 14

  • A deputy traveled to Young County Jail to arrest a 35-year-old male on two Motion to Revoke Probation warrants out of Stephens County. The male was transported to the Stephens County Jail and served the warrants, which were related to past charges of family violence and theft by check.

May 15

  • Sheriff Holt spoke to four sessions of seventh grade students at Breckenridge Junior High School. He educated them on how to interact with law enforcement during traffic stops and also answered the students’ questions.

May 17

  • Deputies and other emergency personnel responded to the 5000 block of FM 207 for a farming accident that resulted in a female being flown by air ambulance to an out of town hospital.

May 18

  • The Sheriff’s Office responded to flooding in various parts of the county and city throughout the morning hours.
  • The Sheriff’s Office worked with several other members of the community to move Polo on the Prairie from its traditional venue to the Stephens County Airport. This was done due to flooding at the original venue. A successful event was held with Dwight Yoakam performing. Much thanks goes out to many local community members who donated time, money, and energy to change the location of this fundraiser. The Sheriff’s Office also worked security during the event.

May 19

  • A deputy responded to a call for service in the 600 block of CR 309. While at a residence there, he discovered that a male had a warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported the male to the Stephens County Jail where he was booked on a DWI warrant out of Taylor County.

May 21

  • The Sheriff’s Office contacted a suspicious vehicle in a driveway in the 1500 block of West Jeanette Street. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for a Breckenridge code enforcement warrant related to building standards. He was also charged with No Driver’s License, No Vehicle Insurance, and Expired Vehicle Registration. BPD provided backup on this contact.
  • The Sheriff attended the Rotary Club’s weekly lunch to help promote the upcoming blood drive which is called Battle of the Badges. Every person who donates blood gets to do so in the name of the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Breckenridge Police Department, or Breckenridge Fire Department.

May 26

  • A deputy issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to two 19-year-old males for an address on CR 264. This was at the request of a father who did not want the males around his daughter.
  • A deputy responded to a disturbance in the 9900 block of CR 199, where a 26-year-old female was arrested for Disorderly Conduct by Language, after continually cursing in public and at her family.

May 27

  • A deputy traveled to Taylor County Jail to arrest a 51-year-old female for a Motion To Adjudicate warrant related to the past offense of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The deputy transported her back to the Stephens County Jail.

May 30

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant on a 39-year-old male who was already in the Stephens County Jail. The warrant was related to a probation violation for the past offense of Criminal Trespass.
  • A delayed report of theft from a residence on CR 137 was made by the owner of the house. A ring was stolen from a bedroom.

June 2

  • A deputy arrested a 37-year-old male in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office for a warrant out of Palo Pinto County. It was related to burglary of a building.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, traffic accidents/hazards, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, and some types of proactive calls.
