Fans of the Breckenridge High School varsity baseball team gathered downtown this afternoon to cheer on the players as they left town, headed for Abilene to play the Anson High School Tigers for the Area championship. The team received an escort by the Breckenridge Police Department and Breckenridge Fire Department as they drove through town.

The game was originally scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, May 10, but it may start later due to a delay in the game before them between the Brownwood High School and Midland-Greenwood High School.

The Buckaroos and the Tigers are set for a two-out-of-three series. The second game is scheduled to start 30 minutes after the first game ends. If necessary, the third game is scheduled to begin at at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11.

All of the games will be played at Abilene Christian University, unless a location change is necessary because of weather.

If you can’t make it to Abilene today, you can listen to the games on KLXK radio on 93.5. If you’re not in range to pick up that signal, the radio station’s website also will feature the games. Click here to go to the website and then click on the green button that says “Click to Listen to Buckaroo Sports.” Then, click on the “Listen Live” button.
