Frontier Days hosts second annual No Brakes Skateboard Competition
The second annual No Brakes Skateboard Competition was held on Saturday, May 4, during the Stephens County Frontier Days at the skateboard park across the street from the Trade Barn in the Breckenridge City Park.
Breckenridge Police officer Jarrett Elting, a former skateboarder and host of the event, said this year’s turnout was better than last year’s.
During the competition, Josh Tollin of Dallas won Best Trick. In the Street Contest, Sheldon Haan of Abilene won first place; Judah Tollin of Dallas won second place; and, Vance Cliften won third place.
Other winners on Saturday were Brent Ables and Kole Tatum, First Beginner; Joshua Ramirez, Jaime Mendez, Mikey Miller and Aaden Mendez, all of Breckenridge, Second Beginner.
Dakota Camp with the Rhythm Skate Shop in Grand Prairie judged Saturday’s competitions. Also on hand Saturday were Raymond Knowles and Braden Walker with the Primal Skate Shop in Abilene.
