Brothers Brysen Hash and Reyse Hash became the second and third scouts to receive the Scout Award badge in Breckenridge’s re-established Boy Scout Troop 63.

The two scouts were presented the award by Brian Kight, assistant scoutmaster, during a ceremony in front of the troop’s Scout Hut on Sunday, April 14. They are the sons of Krystal and Chuck Hash of Breckenridge.

The Scout badge is the first badge Scouts earn after joining the Boy Scouts. They then earn the Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle, which is the top rank.

Kight said they are still actively working to grow the troop and recruit new scouts. He said they will pick up some new scouts in the troop when the local Cub Scouts have their Bridging Ceremony on Saturday, May 18. The troop is sponsored by the Breckenridge Rotary Club, and Matthew Hise is the troop’s Scoutmaster.
