Wayland VFD to offer active shooter training for public
The Wayland Volunteer Fire Department will offer a CRASE — Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event — class on Saturday, March 9.
The training is designed to help those who attend to be better prepared to deal with a situation that involves someone shooting at people. Stephens County Sheriff Will Holt is scheduled to teach the class on Saturday. It will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the Wayland VFD station, 10276 FM 1852, in the Wayland community southeast of Breckenridge.
The class is free and open to the public. Appetizers and drinks will be served on a first-come-first-served basis.
A similar course was offered last year at the Lighthouse Church in Breckenridge. Click here to read the Breckenridge Texan’s in-depth article on that training.
