The City of Breckenridge will have a tire recycling day beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. The event will continue until 4 p.m. or until the truck is filled, whichever comes first.

Breckenridge residents can take up to six tires to the City Convenience Station at 1548 FM 287. No equipment tires will be accepted.

Also, this month’s bulk trash pick-up will be on Thursday, Feb. 14.

Residents may have up to three bulk items, no loose trash. To have items picked up, residents should place items at least three feet away from poly carts. A special collection vehicle will collect bulk items and bagged or bundled yard waste. All items must be at curbside the day before collection.

The driver will only collect once per residential unit.

“Bulky Waste” items include stoves, refrigerators (CFSs must be removed and tagged), water tanks, washing machines, furniture and yard waste. Trees, shrubs, or brush trimmings and any other waste materials must be bundled, securely tied together forming an easily handled package not exceeding three feet in length or 50 pounds in weight.

Items not included in bulk pickup include construction debris, dead animals, hazardous waste, stable matter, chemicals, paints, thinners, tires, batteries, oil and oil filters, antifreeze, drums, asbestos, untreated medical wastes, contaminated soils, sludge, liquids, and automobile/truck engine parts.

The remaining bulk pickup scheduled days this year are Thursday, March 14, April 18, May 16, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 14 and Dec. 19.
