Letter: Thank you to the community

December 31

To: My dear friends and the good citizens of Stephens County

D.C. “Button” Sikes

Serving Stephens County as the Commissioner of Precinct 2 for the past 40 years has been the privilege of a lifetime. As my time of service ends, my heart is grateful to the citizens of this county, and precinct 2 voters, for allowing me the opportunity to serve the county I love.

During my 40 years of service, the county has weathered many storms and we have also experienced times of success. My life has been enriched by the friendships I have made over these years. It has been a pleasure to serve with a number of colleagues on the Commissioners Court. Fran and I will retire to our ranch, where we have lived since 1961.

Thank you doesn’t seem adequate, but I offer it sincerely to all of you that have supported me over the years. My family and I will continue to support our beloved county in the years to come. May God bless all of you!

Sincerely,

D.C. “Button” Sikes
