December 3

  • The Sheriff’s Office traveled to the Graham Police Department with several years of stored drugs related to past cases that had already been disposed of or adjudicated. Once at GPD, the drugs were burned in an incinerator, according to best practices.

December 6

  • A deputy conducted a traffic stop due to the driver not having vehicle insurance and displaying an expired registration sticker. Due to multiple past warnings, citations, and the driver being a known thief and methamphetamine abuser, the 39-year-old male was arrested for the above violations.
  • A deputy transported a mental health patient from Stephens County to a behavioral health hospital in Abilene.
  • Multiple indictments were handed down by a local grand jury related to cases that the Sheriffs’ Office had investigated.

December 7

  • A deputy arrested a 61-year-old male in the 7900 block of FM 2231 for failing to properly stay registered as a sex offender.

December 8

  • A deputy arrested a 30-year-old female for a warrant post-indictment related to the charge of felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. This occurred in the 200 block of West Second Street.
  • The Sheriff’s Office issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to a 39-year-old male for an address on CR 244.

December 9

  • A deputy arrested a 77-year-old male in the 1200 block of West Dyer Street for a felony warrant of Indecency with a Child – Sexual Contact.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, working traffic accidents, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, some proactive calls, etc.
