K-Lakes radio hosting online, on-air auction for scholarships
Local radio station KLXK 93.5 FM, aka K-Lakes, is holding an online and on-air auction to raise money for scholarships for Breckenridge and Albany high school seniors.
Proceeds raised from the auction will fund the Lance Kitchens Honorary Scholarship, which will be awarded to seniors from Breckenridge High School, and the K-Lakes 93.5 Scholarship, which will be awarded to seniors from Albany High School.
The online auction, which kicked off today, Tuesday, Nov. 27, will run through Thursday, Nov. 29, at 5 p.m. On Thursday, the radio station will also hold a live, on-air auction throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
KLXK morning show host Charlie Parker said the items that are up for bid can be seen online at https://www.32auctions.com/k-lakes935 and bids are already being taken for the items.
The auction includes a variety of donated items and service donated by Breckenridge and Albany businesses.
Parker said the number of students who will receive scholarships will depend on how much money is raised through the auction.
