November 12

  • A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle and discovered that the 35-year-old female was driving without a license with prior convictions. She was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken to jail.
  • Three male inmates were transported from the Stephens County Jail to a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison near Abilene.

November 14

  • A theft from an organization of approximately $500 was reported.

November 16

  • A deputy attempted to contact a 36-year-old male who was driving on FM 2231 for being wanted by TDCJ for a parole violation and a warrant out of Eastland County for assault. He evaded in a vehicle, and his truck caught on fire near the intersection of FM 1852 and CR 146. He attempted to evade on foot when the deputy captured him.
  • The jail division of the Sheriff’s Office is now fully staffed, but they are still accepting applications for future openings. Prospective employees will be put on a waiting list.
  • A Sheriff’s Office representative traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to retrieve two stolen firearms from our county which had been recovered by Tulsa Police Department. The firearms were released to their rightful owner.

November 18

  • A deputy responded to a family violence disturbance on CR 206. Upon investigation it was determined that a 26-year-old female had assaulted her father. She was arrested for misdemeanor family violence assault.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, traffic accidents/hazards, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, and some types of proactive calls.
