BJHS girls athletics department observes Diabetes Awareness Month
The Breckenridge Junior High School girls athletics members, and their coach and teacher Charla Valenzuela, wore blue on Nov. 13 in honor of Diabetes Awareness Month and in support of their fellow student athlete Katherine Griffith, who has been fighting Type 1 Diabetes since she was 6 years old. In addition to wearing blue, the girls made signs in support of Katherine’s daily battle of injections, fingers pricks, high and low blood sugars, and carb-counting.
