Soon Warren exhibit to open at BFAC on Tuesday

The watercolor and oil paintings of Soon Y. Warren will be on exhibit at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center for the community to enjoy for the next two months.

Warren is an artist, art workshop teacher and author from Fort Worth. Originally from South Korea, Warren often paints with watercolors but also works with oils and acrylics. Both of her books, “Vibrant Flowers in Watercolors” and “Painting Vibrant Watercolor: Discover the Magic of Light, Color and Contrast,” can be purchased through her website, www.soonwarren.com.

The Breckenridge exhibit features 31 paintings, including 21 watercolors, nine oil paintings and one acrylic. The paintings range in theme from florals to still lifes of fruit to other items, such as a bicycle, a bowl of marbles, windows and more.

Warren is a member of a variety of organizations, including the Texas Watercolor Society-Purple Sage Brush, National Watercolor Society, American Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Artist, the Fort Worth Society of Watercolor Artists and more. She has won numerous awards and has been featured in several magazine articles.

Her Breckenridge show will open in the Main Gallery on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and will run through Jan. 4.

The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center, located at 207 N. Breckenridge Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is free and open to the public, but donations are accepted. For more information, call 254-559-5502.
