People’s Choice awarded in BFAC’s annual art show

Most of the awards in the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center’s annual Juried Art Show were announced last month when the exhibit first opened. But, one award required the input of visitors to the show — the People’s Choice Award.
Shalon Wilson, director of the BFAC, has announced that the People’s Choice Award in the 27th annual Juried Art Show has been given to two entries, “Moonlight Sonata” by Bob Penny of Aledo, and “Like Night and Day” by Barbara Meikle of Santa Fe, New Mexico. “Moonlight Sonata” also was chosen for the Newcomer Award by the show’s juror, Beverly Boren.

The show will be on display at the BFAC, 207 N. Breckenridge Ave., through Aug. 31. The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; call 254-559-6602 for Saturday hours.
