Asphalt overlay to temporarily close intersection at US 180 and Graham Street

Asphalt overlay will be placed on the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 180 (East Walker Street) at the Graham Street (FM 287) intersection on Monday and Tuesday, July 9-10, according to information from the Texas Department of Transportation. That is the intersection in front of the eastside 7-11 store.
During that phase of the highway reconstruction project, the eastbound lanes of U.S. 180 will be blocked off, but the westbound lanes will continue to be open for two-way traffic. Cross-traffic on Graham Street, across the intersection, may be detoured during the time the asphalt overlay is being placed.

The reconstruction project was started in the fall of 2016. According to the Texas Department of Transportation’s Project Tracker webpage, the project’s completion date is now estimated to be in April 2019.
