East Elementary to host new student registration today

On Tuesday, June 26, Breckenridge’s East Elementary School will have general enrollment for new students only. East Elementary is for students in Pre-K through First Grade.

The registration will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, 1310 E. Elm St. Another enrollment opportunity will be held on Aug. 2.

To register your child, you must bring the following items:

Shot records
Social Security card
Birth certificate
Income verification (for Pre-K only)
Previous school records if applicable and available
Proof of residency only if you have a city address other than Breckenridge. Must be a current gas, water or electric bill

To save time during the registration process, Breckenridge Independent School District encourages parents to use the online student enrollment process for new (never been in the Breckenridge district) students. To begin the online enrollment process, parents and/or legal guardians of new students will need an active email address to access and use the online registration system. The email account will also be used for important communication with your child’s school. If you do not have an email account, there are links on the BISD website for free email services.

To begin the online student enrollment process, go to the website www.breckenridgeisd.org and click on the tab that says, “Parents & Students” and choose the New Student Enrollment option. Then go to “Click here first for New Student, Online Enrollment” and follow the directions.

Head Start
Head Start also will have summer registration on Tuesday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Elementary. Head Start is a full day Pre-K program serving 3- and 4-year-olds (must be 3 or 4 by September 1, 2018)
