Early voting for mayoral election to begin Monday
Early voting in the City of Breckenridge election will begin Monday, April 23, with two candidates — Allena McElyea Duncan and Bob Sims — vying for the mayor’s position.

The ballot will also include the two City Commissioner places that are up for election this year; both of those candidates are unopposed. Russell Blue and Rob Durham are running for Commissioner Place 1 and Commissioner Place 2, respectively.
Early voting will be Monday, April 23, through Friday, April 27, and continue again on Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1. Early voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for April 23 and 24, when it will be offered from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Early voting will be conducted at the City Offices, 105 N. Rose Ave.
Election Day will be Saturday, May 5, and the polling location on election day will be in the City Commission Chambers at 105 N. Rose Ave.
All eligible voters of the City of Breckenridge may vote for all of the positions.
To vote on Election Day or during the Early Voting period, a voter must have one of the following forms of ID as required by the Texas Secretary of State:
- Texas Driver License issued by the Department of Public Safety. NOTE: This form of ID should not be used if “Limited Term” or “Temporary Visitor” appears on the face of the card as this indicates the person is not a U.S. citizen.
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS.
- Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS. Note: This form of ID should not be used if “Limited Term” or “Temporary Visitor” appears on the face of the card as this indicates the person is not a U.S. Citizen.
- Texas License to Carry a Handgun issued by DPS.
- United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph.
- United States Citizenship Certificate/Certificate of Naturalization containing the person’s photograph.
- United States Passport.; Note: A “passport card” which is also issued by the U.S. Department of State, is acceptable.
