The City of Breckenridge is extending the hours that the Breckenridge Convenience Station will be open.

The station, which has regularly been open three days a week (Thursday-Saturday), will now be open five days a week in an effort to help serve local residents with all their needs to dump normal household trash and bulk items, according to a City of Breckenridge news release.

The new hours are in effect as of Tuesday, Jan. 23. The new hours are:

  • Tuesday – 1-5 p.m.
  • Wednesday – 1-5 p.m.
  • Thursday – 1-5 p.m.
  • Friday – 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday – 9 a.m-5 p.m.

“We are excited to be able to be able to open up the station five days a week again,” Breckenridge Public Works Director Houston Satterwhite said. “We hope that it will attract more people to the station and be a benefit to all our citizens.”

There is an on-site recycling bin at the station free of charge. Brush, limbs, leaves and grass clippings can also be dumped free of charge.

Household bagged trash and bulk items can been disposed of for a fee. The minimum price for household bagged trash is $7, and the minimum for bulk items is $15. The base price for a trailer with bulk items is $21.50/cubic yard. Prices will increase from those amounts the more items a customer brings.

The station is not open for commercial use, including brush disposal.
