On Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 24, the City of Breckenridge rescinded the boil water notice that had been issued last week for water customers in the Friday trash service area, excluding those on and north of Walker Street.
The boil water notice was issued because of a requirement by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality after a water line break caused a valve to be shut off. According to a notice issued by the city, corrective actions were taken to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels and/or bacteriological quality. After testing results indicated that the water no longer required boiling, the notice was lifted.
