In the upcoming election, voters who live in Stephens County, but outside the Breckenridge city limits, will have a chance to vote on a new sales tax for the county.

Businesses located in the unincorporated areas of Stephens County could be required to collect up to 2% more in sales tax if local voters approve a sales tax that the County Commissioners proposed at their regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 22.
