Thanks to two local ranches, Stephens County has donated the 10th most amount of money to the Alamo Statewide Stampede, a public fundraising challenge among the 254 counties in the State of Texas to see which county can raise the most funds.

Mike and Mary Terry, owners of the MT7 Ranch near Breckenridge, are this year’s recipients of Texas’ highest honor for private land conservation, the Leopold Conservation Award.
The new historical marker is located on FM 717 North in Stephens County, Texas.
