The Breckenridge Buckaroos continued their District 3-3A campaign by hosting the Jim Ned Indians and hoping to rebound from last week’s loss to the Clyde Bulldogs, but it was the Indians that came out with the win, 49-7.

Despite having the lead in the third quarter Friday night, Oct. 10, the Buckaroos varsity football team lost their district opener to the Clyde Bulldogs in Clyde, 22-14.

The Breckenridge Buckaroos will officially open the district portion of the 2025 football season on Friday, Oct. 10, against the Clyde Bulldogs at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium in Clyde.

In 2024, the Tolar Rattlers played spoiler for the Breckenridge High School homecoming game, handing them a 42-6 loss, and in this year’s matchup on Friday, Sept. 26, the Buckaroos returned the favor, winning 19-12 in Tolar’s homecoming game.

The Breckenridge High School Buckaroos varsity football team capped off a week-long schedule of Homecoming activities with a dominating 35-6 win over the Eastland Mavericks on Friday night, Sept. 19.

Emma Walker and Glen Thibodeaux were crowned as the 2025 Breckenridge High School Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King in a ceremony before the start of tonight’s football game.

The Breckenridge community celebrated the Buckaroos — past, present and future — on Wednesday night with the annual Homecoming Parade through downtown, followed by a pep rally and bonfire at the baseball/softball fields.

It’s Buckaroo Homecoming week in Breckenridge, and there are a variety of activities planned. The theme of this year’s homecoming is Boots and Roots.

The Breckenridge Buckaroos continue to improve from week to week, picking up their first lead of the season on Friday night, but ultimately it was the Cisco Loboes who walked away with the win, 18-14, in Buckaroo Stadium.

The Breckenridge Buckaroos showed a lot of fight but ultimately came up short as they fell to the Childress Bobcats 21-14, on Friday, Sept. 5, in Childress.
