July 16

  • A deputy transported a 34-year-old female from Eastland County Jail to Stephens County Jail for a warrant related to Theft of Property.
  • A deputy transported two male inmates from the Stephens County Jail to a prison near Abilene.
  • The Sheriff’s Office located three stolen archery bows from a burglary in the county earlier this month in a pawn shop in Cleburne.

July 18

  • A deputy recovered a 30-30 caliber pump action rifle from an address on East Seventh Street. If anyone knows who the rightful owner may be, contact the Sheriff’s Office.

 July 20

  • Deputies served a felony arrest warrant on a 33-year-old male in the 500 block of North Rose Avenue. The warrant was related to continuous family violence.
  • The Sheriff’s Office recovered a Yeti cooler in Gillespie County that was stolen from a burglary in this county in early July.

 July 22

  • A stabbing was reported at the Plaza Motel, 6924 U.S. Highway 180 West. The victim and suspect were still on scene when law enforcement arrived. The 38-year-old male victim was transported to Stephens County ER for treatment, and the 30-year-old female suspect was arrested on scene for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – family violence. The 30-year-old female was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for the Plaza Motel.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
