BHS Class of 2018 graduates
The Breckenridge High School Class of 2018 graduated Friday, May 25, in front of a packed house at the BISD Athletic and Fine Arts Facility.
The ceremony began with the traditional entrance of the graduates, followed by the invocation by Braxton Post. Then, Principal Bryan Dieterich presented awards to the academic top 10 percent of the class, as well as the valedictorian and salutatorian awards and other honors and certificates.
The salutatorian, Maria Alvarado, gave her speech, and then Valedictorian Makenna Moser addressed the crowd.
BISD Superintendent Tim Seymore gave the presentation of the class, proclaiming them graduates. Then, BISD School Board President Jeff Dooley and other administrators presented the diplomas. Many of the students participating in the graduation ceremony left a red flower in the empty chair that would have been occupied by Ashton Jones, who died in December.
The ceremony wrapped up with benediction by Cheyenne Boone and the singing of the school song.
