Bettie Joe Curtis
Bettie Joe Curtis, age 95, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 26, in the Breckenridge Cemetery with Bro. W.C. Roach officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Bettie Joe Cox was born on June 20, 1931, in Ballinger, Texas, to Burett and Julia Cox. On October 13 ,1951, she married Edward Rolen Curtis in Breckenridge, and the two spent almost 63 years together before his passing. Bettie enjoyed helping others. She was a good mom and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and her dog, Rowdy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and four siblings, Raymond, Charles, Lucielle and Anna Lee.
Bettie is survived by her children, Marie Stancel, Sybil Reed, Edward Curtis and wife Cynthia, Bobby Curtis and wife Terrilyn; ten grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
