Steven Cudd, 62, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away on October 2, 2026. He was born on September 16, 1964. Steven was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought light and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a bright shining light — funny, witty, kind, empathetic, loving, and deeply nurturing. Steven had a remarkable ability to make people feel cared for, accepted, and loved. His generous heart and joyful spirit touched the lives of many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

For more than 30 years, Steven worked as a hairdresser. His career became so much more than simply doing hair. Over the years, he formed friendships and meaningful connections with countless people. His chair became a place where people could talk, laugh, share their lives, and feel cared for. Steven had a gift for making people feel beautiful — not only on the outside, but on the inside as well.

Steven’s faith as a Christian was an important part of his life. His compassion, generosity, and love for others were a reflection of the faith he carried in his heart. He believed in loving people and showing kindness, and he left an impression on many lives simply by being himself.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Warner; his grandmother, Jean Sprain; and his aunts, Vicki Thompson and Debra Tregellas. Steven is survived by his mother, Kay Warner of Breckenridge; his sister, Shannon Nicklas of Breckenridge; and his beloved niece, Grace Nicklas. He also leaves behind countless amazing friends and loved ones who will forever remember his laughter, his kindness, and the light he brought into their lives.

Steven will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so freely will remain. His beautiful spirit, quick wit, compassionate heart, and unwavering ability to make others smile will never be forgotten.

Steven’s Celebration of Life will be held on October 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Soggy Dog to follow. The family requests that you please leave the black at home and dress in colors that reflect Steven’s bright spirit.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Herring Ranch Pig Rescue and Sanctuary. This Rescue held a special place in Steven’s heart.
