DRT’s Picketville Chapter to host presentation on arrowheads
The Picketville Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will host a presentation on arrowheads at their meeting on Monday, Sept. 14.
The group will meet at 10 a.m. in Pendleton Fellowship Hall at St. Paul Bible Church, 1504 E. Elm St.
Walter Williams will present “Cabeza de Vaca and the Lost Emerald Arrowheads: Texas Point Types, Age and Value.” He has published several articles about the arrowheads he collects, as well as articles about Cabeza De Vaca and retracing the Corps of Discovery up the Missouri River by Lewis and Clark.
He will bring an extensive collection of arrowheads and will be available to answer questions about arrowheads and determine the age, value and type for anyone that needs to identify a find. There are point types that appear only in Eastland and Stephens County.
Williams has just finished his first book and will share with the group the ease of writing for posterity and family history and the nuances of artificial intelligence for those who are interested.
