Janice Lynn Davis
Janice Lynn Davis entered into the presence of her Savior on Monday, June 29, 2026. She was at peace, free from pain, and holding the hand of the love of her life for almost 66 years.
Janice Lynn Lightfoot was born on January 3, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to John Marion Lightfoot and Naomi Nancy Welch Lightfoot. She grew up in Shreveport and, after graduating from Fair Park High School, attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where she met the love of her life, Neil Davis. They were married on September 24, 1960.
Janice was the loving mother of three children: Dennis, Marion, and Kristie. She was an amazing Gma (“Gee-Maa”) to seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Gma was known for her deep love for her family, her servant’s heart, and her passion for sharing Jesus with others. She was our faithful prayer warrior and was deeply treasured by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her beloved husband of almost 66 years, Neil Davis; her son, Dennis Davis, and his wife, Jana, of Breckenridge, Texas; her daughter, Marion, and her husband, Russell, of San Antonio, Texas; and her daughter, Kristie Noles, and her husband, Don, of Comanche, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Weyer, and her husband, Fred; and her brother, Don Lightfoot, and his wife, Juanita.
There will be a private family Celebration of Life held at a later date.
Janice lived life well. She fought the good fight and finished the race. Laid up for her is the crown of righteousness.
“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” — 2 Timothy 4:6–8
