Fermin Olivas
Fermin Olivas, age 71, of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Morehart Mortuary.
Fermin Refugio Olivas was born on July 7, 1954, in Durango, Mexico, to parents, Genovevo Olivas Sital and Socorro Garcia Salazar. On March 31, 1988, he married Maria de los Angeles Garcia in Albany. Fermin worked the majority of his life in the oilfield at Pool Well Service. He attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Fermin loved helping people whenever he could and enjoyed sitting on the porch with his coffee and watching the news.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers-in-law.
Mr. Olivas is survived by his two daughters, Maria Olivas and Marta Olivas; one brother; two sisters; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
