Auditions for the BHS Theater’s Fall Musical
Auditions for the Breckenridge High School and Junior High production of “The Wizard of Oz” will be at Bailey Auditorium at 4:40 p.m. on Aug. 4. For more information, send an email to Cassie.Johnson@BreckenridgeISD.org or Chelsea.Escalon@BreckenridgeISD.org.
Tuesday Aug. 5
First Day of School
The Breckenridge Independent School District will kick off the 2025-26 school year on Tuesday, Aug. 5. Classes will start at 7:45 or 7:55 a.m., depending on the school. Reduced speed limits will be in effect in the school zones before and after school hours.
Saturday, Aug. 16
“How to Train Your Dragon”
The National Theatre, Copperleaf Properties will sponsor a free showing of the movie “How to Train Your Dragon (2025)” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Admission to the movie will be free, and concessions will be available for purchase via cash or card. No outside food or drink allowed. The National Theatre is located at 116 E. Walker St. in downtown Breckenridge.

Through Aug. 1
Feed My Lambs Summer Meals Program
First Methodist Church of Breckenridge, 419 W. Walker, and several other local churches will provide free lunches for Breckenridge Independent School District children with the Feed My Lambs summer meal program for the next few weeks. The meals will be delivered at no charge to those who sign up in advance. Click here for the details.
