Stephens Memorial Hospital recently honored Kraymer Harbold as the 2025 Employee of the Year and Melissa Palacios as the 2025 Director of the Year.

Harbold works in the Emergency Department as the Safety and Preparedness Manager. He was also recently voted the Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter, both awards were nominated by and voted on by his peers.

“Kraymer goes out of his way to help anyone that needs it. He is a very hard worker and is an asset to SMH. I have seen him treat his patients, coworkers and visitors with respect and care. He is very deserving of this award,” said one of his co-workers in the Emergency Department.

Palacios is Director of Patient Access. The Director of the Year award is chosen among the SMH senior leadership, based on who they see as exemplifying SMH’s core values and leadership.

“Melissa always starts her day with a smile and can-do attitude,” said Nadine Dunn, Chief Financial Officer. “When she faces a challenge, she asks questions to understand and then will work until she has the solution. SMH and myself are very glad Melissa is here.”
