City rescinds both boil water notices

City rescinds both boil water notices
February 28
15:39 2018

The City of Breckenridge has ended both boil water notices that were issued earlier this month.

The notices affected water customers on 180 East from Jackson to Highway 67 including all side Streets, and from East Seventh Street to Truman’s and North Breckenridge Avenue to the bridge on FM 287 (Industrial Loop), including all streets in between.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue the boil water notices to inform customers that due to an interruption in service, water from the system must be boiled prior to consumption.

The City has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information regarding the matter, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
