Maria Monroy
Maria Monroy, age 68, of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Christopher Columbus officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday, November 28, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel.
Maria Magdalena Ramirez de Castro was born December 7, 1956, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, to parents, Pedro Ramirez and Maria Lourdes Castro. She moved to Breckenridge, and in 1979, she married Jose Vasquez Monroy. She made many friends through the many jobs she had. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Amy Monroy; and one granddaughter, Audree Monroy.
Maria is survived by her two sons, Luis Ramirez and wife Laura, and Andy Monroy, all of Breckenridge; grandchildren, Alexis, Luis, Anthony and Mateo Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Penelope, Connor, Emery and Keelan Ramirez, Creek and Knox Russell, Greyson and Cooper Ramirez; siblings, Antonia Duran, Esperansa Arriola, Josefina Ramirez, Yolanda Ramirez, Veronica Ramirez, Enriqueta Castro, Pedro Ramirez, Gabriela Perez, and Reina Ramirez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
