Several members of the Lee’s Legion Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented the Breckenridge Fire Department with “Hero Bags” filled with goodies for the firefighters on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8.
The local chapter of the DAR decided to honor the fire department as their service project this year. The organization’s members worked together to fill the bags with snacks and other items they thought the firefighters could use, such as cookies, candy, chips, lip balm, pain reliever, etc.
The firefighters on duty Wednesday afternoon accepted the Hero Bags for the department and were happy to get the goodies.
The DAR tries to have a service project each year, members said.
