FNB-Breckenridge accomplishes 100 percent employee donations to United Fund

Breckenridge’s United Fund campaign moved closer to its fundraising goal this morning when First National Bank presented a check including the employees’ donations and matching funds from the bank.

Once again, FNB-Breckenridge achieved 100 percent participation in the annual fundraising campaign for the organization that assists other organizations in the community.

FNB employees gathered in the bank lobby early this morning, Wednesday, Feb. 23, and were recognized for their achievement by United Fund members Sherry and Les Strickland.

United Fund President Sherry Strickland said that, as of Feb. 23, the fundraising campaign is at 73 percent of its $18,000 goal.

The United Fund is a local group that collects donations to support a variety of organizations. This year, the United Fund will make donations to the following:

  • Boy Scouts Troop #63
  • BSA’s Girl Troop #63
  • Cub Scout Pack #81
  • Girl Scout Troop #8356
  • Breckenridge Fine Arts Center
  • Breckenridge Library
  • Breckenridge Little League
  • Dr. Goodall’s House
  • Friends of Historic Breckenridge
  • Meals on Wheels
  • The Open Door
  • The SHAC (School Health Advisory Committee)
  • Stephens County Agriculture & Community Center
  • Stephens County Child Welfare Board
  • Stephens County Humane Society
  • Swenson Memorial Museum

Anyone who would like to donate may mail a check to: United Fund of Breckenridge, Inc., P.O. Box 170, Breckenridge, TX 76424. Or, donations may be made online on the United Fund website.

The United Fund of Breckenridge board of directors for the 2021-2022 campaign year include Bo Asher, Sandy Broyles, Whitney Fulgham, Cassie Griffith, Scott Harris, Jean Hayworth, Lynda Justus, Wayne Justus, Kathy O’Shields, Kevin Simmons, Les Strickland, Sherry Strickland, Gary Trammel, and Sharon Wimberley.
