Anyone who visited the snack bar during last week’s Buckaroo game against Jacksboro may have noticed a few changes. The Band Boosters, whose volunteer’s operate the booth during the games, have updated a few things this year.

Each week, they will feature a special item on the menu in addition to the regular fare of hot dogs, hamburgers , popcorn, nachos, candy and drinks.

For example, last Friday at the Jacksboro game, they featured brisket sandwiches from Hot Rods and Hogs. This week, the featured item will be roasted corn and Mexican corn.

“We are partnering with United Supermarkets, and they will be at the game to roast the corn for us,” said Kim Schooler-Fuller with the Band Boosters. “All proceeds will go to support the Pride of Breckenridge Junior High and High School Band.”

Also, this year the concession stand has started accepting credit cards for payment.

Although the Buckaroos’ original opponent for tonight’s game was canceled due to COVID-19 cases, Breckenridge ISD officials arranged for the Homecoming game to go on as planned. The Buckaroos will play the Bells High School Panthers at 7:30 p.m. The Homecoming Court presentation is scheduled to begin at 6:50 p.m. at Buckaroo Stadium.
