Dorris Davis
Dorris Davis, age 94, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020. A funeral service for family only will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Albany with Pastor Tom Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 11, at Morehart Mortuary in Albany.
Oma Dorris Everett was born April 13, 1926, in Throckmorton County, Texas, to Lucious Eugene Everett and Selina Elizabeth Saunders Everett. She graduated from Throckmorton High School. On December 13, 1944, she married Kenneth Davis in Breckenridge. Dorris was a housewife but also worked at City Grocery. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and playing dominoes with her family.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious and Selina Everett; her husband, Kenneth Davis; one daughter, Barbara Egeland; two sisters, Bea Swafford and Mary Parrish; and two brothers, Henry Everett and Robert Everett.
Mrs. Davis is survived by one son, Allan Davis of Albany; one sister, Ollie Jean Whatley of Wimberley; five grandchildren, Doug Egeland and wife Jennifer of Alabama, Chris Egeland and wife Kristi of Dallas, James Davis and wife Sherry of Breckenridge, Jason Egeland of North Richland Hills, and Terra Morales and husband Mario of Trophy Club; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
