With autumn officially underway, preparations are in full swing for Breckenridge’s annual Fall Festival and Halloween activities. Local organizers have put together a full slate of events designed to celebrate the season.

From pumpkin decorating and hay rides to trick-or-treating and the fall festival games, this year’s schedule offers a variety of ways to get involved. A list of upcoming dates, times, and locations is detailed below.

Family Fun Fest
The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, City of Breckenridge and Stephens County will host the annual Family Fun Fest in downtown Breckenridge on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. There will be a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest, photo booth, Trunk-or-Treat, booths set up on the Courthouse lawn, food trucks, and plenty of candy and activities.

Fall Festival
The Ridge Cowboy Church will host its annual Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the church, located just across the “mile-long bridge” over Hubbard Creek Reservoir, 108 CR 221, west of Breckenridge. There will be free food, face painting, a hay ride, a cake walk and other games and prizes.

Trunk or Treat
Breckenridge’s East Elementary will host a Trunk or Treat Halloween candy event in the school parking lot from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Walker Street Trick or Treat
The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Walker Street Trick or Treat on Friday, Oct. 30. Local businesses on Walker Street and beyond will be handing out candy to kids for the holiday. Typically, the event takes place during the regular business hours of the participating businesses, mostly from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but some businesses may close earlier or stay open later. The wide range of hours allows younger children and daycares to trick-or-treat early in the day, and then school-age kids can stop by after school.

Halloween
Halloween is on Saturday, Oct. 31. The City of Breckenridge does not have any set times for trick-or-treating. Local families can choose their own times for handing out candy and/or taking their kids trick-or-treating.
