Sabrina Sanders
Sabrina June Sanders, age 65, of Breckenridge, went to sleep on Monday, September 21, 2026, and woke up in the arms of her creator. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Morehart Mortuary.
Sabrina’s life began on a Sunday in Wink, Texas on April 2, 1961. She was the second born child to parents Yvonna Mae and Jack Woody. Sabrina wed young and welcomed her first born, Gary William White, in November of 1976. Then 15 short months later, she welcomed her baby girl, Tessa Elizabeth, in March of 1978. 1979 brought both joy and sorrow when she gave birth to her third and final child, Rebecca Paige, whom was stolen at birth. Even though Sabrina suffered decades not knowing, not a day went by that her daughter was not thought about. You can imagine the joy when Rebecca was found and reunited to this family 27 years later. Sabrina made her way to Breckenridge at the end of 1979, where she eventually met and married James Ray Sanders: a union they entered into a total of three times. Though they spent the last 40 years apart, they never divorced, remaining connected through the decades. While Sabrina had many chapters in her life, her greatest accomplishments were first, her children and then her grandkids. The amazing transition to “Grannyma” came on December 10, 1998. Her grandkids were her entire life, her greatest joy and her reason why. She poured into each of them, leaving behind a beautiful legacy that they will carry with them forever. Sabrina was stronger and braver than she ever gave herself credit for. At the young age of 65 — she outlived her father and all four siblings.
She was preceded in death by her Mr. Bojangles; her grandparents, Dorotha and Patrick Heckman; her father, John David “Jack” Woody; her brother, John David Woody; sisters, Suzanna Kay Smith, Roxanna Faye Carpenter, and Patricia Eva Visser, who left this world only three weeks prior to her.
Sabrina leaves behind the ones that love her most. She is survived by her precious four-legged girl, Raycee Grayce; her loving mother, Yvonna Willis; her children, Gary William White, Tessa Elizabeth Helms and Rebecca Paige Stull; her deeply cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Pauline McDonald and her husband Austin Rayce, Eithan James Helms, Emma Brielle Stovall and husband A.J., LilyJoy Mae Stull; her four precious great-grandchildren, Phenelope Joy and James Wyatt McDonald, Emory Brielle and D.J. Stovall; along with several nieces and nephews.
As our hearts are deeply shattered at her leaving, what a joyous reunion she must have had. She loved and respected God on a deep and personal level. We find comfort knowing that she is in Heaven for all of eternity.
