Mike Copeland
Mike Copeland, 79, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. His memorial service will be held at One Church under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home, Breckenridge Texas, Sunday, June 28 at 2 p.m. with Russell Blue officiating.
Michael Glen Copeland was born on December 13, 1946, in Breckenridge, Texas, to parents Minnie and Toad Copeland. Mike grew up on the family ranch near Possum Kingdom Lake. He attended school in Breckenridge and graduated with the class of 1965. He was a quarterback for the Breckenridge Buckaroos and played later for McMurray University in Abilene, Texas. Mike served in the United States Army. He was a true cowboy and he lived a cowboy life every day.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Minnie and Toad Copeland and his wife Lyn Copeland.
Mike is survived by his daughter Kim Wade and son-in-law Jim Wade, and one granddaughter Emmy Wade, all of Saginaw, Texas. He is also survived by one sister, Sherry Copeland Duggan of Breckenridge and his significant other Denise Holson of Breckenridge. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Mike can be made to the Breckenridge Library and the VFW Post 7767 in Breckenridge and can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
