Virginia Karl, 86, of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 22, at Morehart Mortuary with Pastor Andy Rodgers and Dr. Genoa Goad officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 22, at Morehart Mortuary.

Virginia Carol Perry was born May 23, 1939, in Stephens County, Texas, to Garland Wayne Perry and Lois Willie Boles Perry. She graduated from Graham High School in 1957 and married Jerry Karl a year later on September 20, 1958. Following their marriage, the Karls moved to Breckenridge where Virginia worked for Petroleum Corporation of Texas and later, she and Jerry owned and operated C&K Marine in Breckenridge until their retirement in 1989. They lived at Possum Kingdom in the 1990s, eventually moving back to Breckenridge in 2016. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts and playing golf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Lois Perry; her husband, Jerry Karl; one sister, Barbara Gale Perry; and one great-grandson, Henry Herring.

Mrs. Karl is survived by her three children, Jeri Lynne Taylor and husband Bill of Ennis, Perry Shawn Karl and wife Debbie, and Lori Dawn Herring and husband Joe, all of Breckenridge; one sister, Glenda Goin of Graham; seven grandchildren, Neisha Cehyah and husband Johnny of Ennis, Jerad Taylor and wife Lindsey of Ennis, Zachary Karl and wife Sheree of Naples, Italy, Derek Karl and wife Shayna of Abilene, Cody Herring and wife Ashley of Graham, Joshua Herring and wife Emily of Lubbock, Caleb Herring and Kaytie Gill of Breckenridge; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Villa Haven and to all those that helped care for Virginia, including Margie Salas, Rosa Valdez and Nell Steel.
