Josiah Chakerian
Josiah Chakerian, 37, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2026. His graveside service at Harpersville Cemetery will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Father Phillip officiating.
Josiah Chakerian was born in Houston, Texas, to Michael and Karen Chakerian, who raised him with unwavering love, steady guidance, and a deep sense of purpose. He graduated from homeschool in 2005, and soon after answered a calling that would define the next two decades of his life: service in the United States Air Force. For 20 years, he dedicated himself to his country with loyalty, humility, and a quiet strength that left an imprint on everyone who served beside him.
Those who worked with Josiah knew there was only one way to describe him: steadfast, skilled, and the kind of person who made the mission possible. As his colleagues so perfectly expressed: “For two decades, you’ve been the backbone of the mission, solving problems before they surfaced and keeping everything running behind the scenes. Whether it was tangled cables or stubborn door hinges, you tackled it all with precision, patience, and a well-timed joke. Your dual mastery of tech and tools made you indispensable. You kept our systems running online, our facilities functional, and our spirits lifted. From inventory counts to surprise inspections, you handled every challenge with calm confidence and a grin that said, ‘I’ve got this.’ Thank you for everything, your dedication, your humor, and the countless ways you made the mission smoother and the days brighter.”
Beyond his uniform, Josiah’s heart belonged to the simple joys that made life rich. He adored his kitties, Luke, Leia, and Daisy Boy, who were truly his world. He also found deep happiness in the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or hiking. These moments were made even more meaningful when shared with his long-term girlfriend, partner, and best friend, Chandra Whisenant, who brought joy, adventure, and unwavering companionship to his life.
Josiah is preceded in death by his beloved Grandpa, Calvin May. He is survived by his Pappa and Momma, Michael and Karen Chakerian; his Aunt Cheryl Fairchild; and all those whose lives were brightened by his kindness, humor, and steady presence.
Josiah lived with purpose, served with honor, and loved with his whole heart. His legacy will continue in the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the quiet, enduring impact of a life lived faithfully and well.
