Fire damages home on County Road 227

The Breckenridge Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of County Road 227 shortly after 6 p.m this evening, Saturday, Jan. 3.
The home, located just south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 180 East and State Highway 67, received heavy damage due to the blaze, according to BFD officials.
No one was home at the time, and officials said the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen area, where the heaviest damage occurred. There were no reported injuries.
According to the BFD, firefighters also responded to a fire on CR 169 near Eliasville at about 8 a.m. this morning. An RV was destroyed in that fire.
The Stephens County Sheriff Office also responded to both fires.
